Las Vegas Weddings

Nevada Marriage Certificate - Wedding - Las VegasBeing a 24-hour city, it is easier to obtain a marriage license in Las Vegas than anywhere else in the US. Many people make Las Vegas their wedding destination, especially when they don’t want to go through the hustle of planning a wedding. This way it is quick and simple.

In every corner of Las Vegas Boulevard, there is a chapel waiting for couples to walk in and get hitched—and they’re open 24/7. You can either have a traditional wedding or a themed one. Since Las Vegas is a town with hundreds of impersonators, you might get Elvis to perform your ceremony. And believe it or not, you can even get hitched in the drive thru of a wedding chapel. Would you like fries with that?

If your family is not present to witness your marriage, some chapels have a web cam where they can watch it in the Internet. The chapels also have somebody on hand to stand as a witness for the couple just in case it’s one of those spur of the moment thing.

For the ones that actually planned a simple Las Vegas wedding, chapels feature a number of packages ranging from $199 up to $2,800.

Some of the most popular chapels in Las Vegas include: the Candlelight Wedding Chapel, The Little Chapel of the Flowers, The Little Church of the West, The Graceland Storybook Wedding Chapel, and The Glass Stained Cathedral Wedding Chapel.

The more lavish weddings usually take place in some of the beautiful churches in town or to an expensive chapel inside a casino where couples choose to have their receptions too.
An outdoor wedding is popular in Vegas in the summer because of the hot weather. One of the nicest outdoor wedding settings is at Mount Charleston. It is 35 miles west of Las Vegas, just about a 45 minutes drive up the mountain.

No matter what type of wedding you want, Las Vegas can deliver. The city tends to get the image of low-level quick chapel weddings, but even the most lavish weddings take place there.

To get your marriage license go to Marriage License Bureau in the County Courthouse at 201 Clark Avenue, 89101. They’re open from 8am to midnight, seven days a week. The license cost $55.

Both individuals have to be at least 18 years old, unrelated and must have proof of age. However, if you’re under 18, you need a parent or legal guardian consent present at the time of application. For more information call 702.671.0600.
